Watercolour on paper painting, featuring a barnhouse. Signed by Edward Garbely (American, 1908-1999) on lower right corner. 15 x 11 inch (38.1 x 27.9 cm). Edward Garbely was born on August 15, 1908 in Newark, New Jersey. He was best known for his harbor scenes, seascapes, landscapes. He studied at the Newark School of Fine & Industrial Art, including with John R. Grabach, A. H. Trouck, and Alexander Baranowski. He also studied with noted artist Emil Gruppe and NY artist Dorothy Koppelman. He was a member of the New Jersey Society of Painters & Sculptors, the East Orange Art Club.
