TLS, one page, 6.25 x 9.5, Stanhope Hotel letterhead, February 20, 1956. Letter to Ted Ashton. In full: “Thank you for your cordial note and good wishes on the opening of Middle of the Night. I hope you are happy in your new assignment. I was very happy with our association, and here’s hoping we work together again soon.” In fine condition, with vertical fold down right side, slightly affecting end of signature, and some light creasing and wrinkling. Ted Ashton, a Princeton graduate, began his motion picture career in 1947 in the publicity department at Warner Brothers. He soon became a unit publicist on many of the studios most successful films for the next 18 years. Among his many credits were Giant, Mister Roberts, Auntie Mame, East of Eden, Calamity Jane, The Green Berets, and Bound for Glory. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
