Autograph Letter Signed "Edward Everett," 2-1/8 pages, 8vo, no place, "Thursday 27th," no year. Addressed to Mrs. [Hamilton] Fish, Everett writes" I learn that Gov. Fish called, in my absence, to inquire at what hour this evening I would like to go to the Institute. Please say to him I should like to get there about ten minutes before the hour fixed for the commencement of my address..." Continuing, Everett accepts Mrs. Fisk's invitation to return to her home after the address. Fold wear, light age-toning, and mounting residue on integral leaf. Accompanied by an unsigned Autograph Letter, 2-1/3 pages, 8vo,"Camp, April 9, 1862." Penned on stationery bearing a large engraved portrait of General George McClellan, the author writes an incompete apology letter to "Mrs. Logan." Age-toning and fold wear.
