Union general (1817-1893) who was killed in Washington after an accidental shock from a cable car. War-dated printed General Order No. 3, 4.25 x 6.75, dated January 11, 1862, signed at the conclusion, “E. D. Townsend.” Order establishes a new military department in Florida to be known as the Department of Key West, with General J. M. Brannan in command. In fine condition, with trimmed edges, small tear to left edge, and some light toning and soiling. RRAuction COA.
