Edward Albee: Signed Who’s Afraid of Virginia
Edward Albee: Signed Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (New York: Atheneum, 1962), first edition, 242 pages, black-cloth binding with embossed lettering on cover and gold lettering on spine, 8vo (5.5” x 8.5”), dust jacket (in protective sleeve). Born in Washington, D.C., in 1928, playwright Edward Franklin Albee III is well-known for his powerful combination of theatricality and acerbic dialogue in such works as The Death of Bessie Smith, The Sandbox, The American Dream and the Tony-Award-winning Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, perhaps his most famous play, due in no small part to the 1966 film version starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. This rare volume is signed on the half-title page by Albee. The front endpaper includes an inscription written by a previous owner. The book is in fine condition, and the dust jacket is in very good condition with minor wear.

Shipping: Books & Catalogs (view shipping information)
