Important Norwegian composer and pianist (1843–1907) whose works, often with a strong nationalistic flavor, include such repertory staples as the incidental music to Peer Gynt and the Holberg suite. ALS in German, two pages on two adjoining sheets, 5 x 6.75, Hotel Der Kaiserhof letterhead, April 7, 1907. Crisply penned letter to the music dealer and concert agent Albert Gutmann. In part (translated): "That you were not at the station this morning made me very upset. Forgive me for not bothering you. It would have been very important to you to have sent a dispatch to 'Norwegian Telegram' with a concise summary of the course of yesterday's Concerts today or tomorrow. Further, I would like to ask you to have the kindness to send me the Munich newspapers to which yesterday's Concert is being discussed. I do not ask you to send the ribbons on the wreaths to Kristiania, but to Berlin—possibly within 8 days." In fine condition.
