MARK HOPKINS. ALS. 1pp. 5" x 8". Williams College. Nov. 18th 1885. An autograph letter signed "Mark Hopkins" to "Dr. Stimson": "I desire to express to you the pleasure I have had in reading your address before the Council at Chicago. It is scholarly as well as able sound and Catholic. Such addresses go so far to unify the denomination and would almost justify the being of the Council if there were no other result...". The letter is in very fine condition.
