Court filing document regarding his invention of the power loom, in part: "The Rev'd Edmund Cartwright, M.A. of Doncaster in the County of York maketh oath and saith that after much study and considerable Expence he hath invented a machine for weaving, and this deponent further saith that the said Invention is new and of his own Contrivance." Signed in the lower left by Cartwright. In very good to fine condition, with toning along the edges, a stain to the upper margin, and several small edge chips and tears.
