Statesman, author, orator, political theorist, and philosopher (1729-1797) who, after relocating to England, served for many years in the House of Commons. He is mainly remembered for his support of the American Revolution, and for his later opposition to the French Revolution Third-person ALS signed within the text, “Mr. Burke,” one page, 7.25 x 9, no date. In part: "Mr. Burke presents his respectful Compliments to the Duke of Manchester, & has the honour of communicating to his Grace the first article of the Specific charges which are to be made with relation to Indian delinquency. Mr. B. trusts his Grace will think the matter important." In fine condition.
