ALS, three pages on two adjoining sheets, 4 x 5.5, Executive Mansion, Albany letterhead, February 18. Roosevelt writes to a Dr. Morgan. In part: “I fear my note to you…has not reached you, so I wish again to ask if you can come in to examine Ted’s eyes…if you do not think it necessary to come please let me know. He is reduced to one pair of spectacles and I do not wish to order more until I know whether he is to continue wearing the same kind. Ted’s eyes have improved wonderfully and he has no more headaches. He does not wear his spectacles when he is playing action games.” In fine condition, with horizontal fold. Roosevelt’s reference is to her son, Ted Jr., who had a sickly childhood but would later become a writer and World War II general killed at Normandy.
