Original pencil costume sketch of Audrey Hepburn in a dress for ‘Roman Holiday,’ on an off-white 13 x 17 sheet. Full length sketch is headed at the top in another hand, “Pg. 39 Roman Holiday.” A brown artist’s pencil notation to the left reads, “Audrey Hepburn, Betty at home if not fit for Hepburn. Please fit. Edith.” Sketch is also signed at the bottom in pencil by Head, who adds an additional notation on the reverse, “Holiday sketch, please from frame original file.” A final notation to top right, in another hand, reads, “Not for Betty G. but for Hepburn, at director’s request. Add fusiz and look for pattern or make brown/green.” Missing top left corner, and scattered light creasing and wrinkling, otherwise fine condition.
