After Edison presented his new machine in 1877, he received his U.S. patent no. 200.521 on Febr. 19, 1878. And in the following several - mostly anonymous - manufacturers of tinfoil phono-graphs came on the market with demonstration models for Edison's outstanding invention and this is one of those. Ton-Aufzeichnungsge-rätes der Welt, erfunden 1877 von Thomas Alva Edison! - "Edisons Zinnfolien-Phono-graph" gilt als eine der größten Erfindungen des legendären Amerikaners, mit der er erstmals in der Welt die menschliche Stimme aufzeichnen und sie sofort wieder reproduzieren konnte. Weltberühmt geworden ist sein erster aufgezeichneter Satz des Verses: "Mary had a little lamb ..." - Edison erhielt am 19.2.1878 darauf die Schutzrechte unter US-Patent-Nr. 200.521. Es gab einige, meist "anonyme" Hersteller von Tinfoilgeräten, nachdem Edison seine Erfindung bereits 1877 vorgestellt hatte.
