Unissued stock certificate for Edison Phonograph Works. Inc in New Jersey. Printed: John B. Powers & Son, Stationers, 101 Chamber St. In 1885. Edison had lost most of his hearing, no record of how it happened. He was still able to invent 1st machine that could record sound and play it back, his favorite invention. The first phonograph was invented in 1877 at his Menlo Park lab. Certificate in very good condition. Three pictures of Thomas Edison. One of him and his phonograph in 1878 in a picture taken by Matthew Brady, a famous photographer. He demonstrated his phonograph for President Rutherford Hayes in White House. Another photograph taken June 16, 1888 of him after working 72 hours straight on his phonograph.
