Dust jacket, title page, and five color plates illustrated by J. Allen St. John.<BR><BR>Publisher's orange cloth with black lettering on the front cover and spine. In original pictorial dust jacket. Minimal soiling to the boards, slight bowing and stiffening of the spine near the head, light edge wear, and noticeably worn corners. Recased with new endpapers, with a previous owner's signature in pencil on the front free endpaper. The textblock is clean, with only minimal toning. The dust jacket has mild toning, rubbing, and soiling, small areas of damp-staining & a pencil notation on the spine, and moderate chipping around the edges. The verso has been reinforced with clear tape at the spine folds and rear flap fold. The front flap of the dust jacket appears to be a replacement piece, evidenced on the verso by a vertical line just to the right of the front flap fold, where it appears that a new front flap has been attached. Overall, a good, sound copy of one of the scarcer Burroughs titles.<BR><BR>"Romance, adventure, science, and a little satire."
