Baseball player remembered as a member of the 1919 Chicago White Sox team. Cicotte was the pitcher who threw the first pitch of the World Series, intentionally hitting the batter to signal the gamblers that the ‘fix’ was on. Scarce ballpoint signature and inscription, “To R. J. Jack Smalling, Eddie V. Cicotte, White Sox,” on an off-white 5 x 3 card. In fine condition, with some mild edge toning and a couple trivial pencil notations.
