Baseball Hall of Famer (1881–1959) best known for his spitballs and for the forty-one-and-a-third innings he pitched in an eight-day span in 1908 in a futile attempt to capture a pennant for the White Sox. Ink signature, “Ed. A. Walsh, White Sox, Chicago,” on an off-white 5.5 x 3.25 government postcard (postmarked 5/28/1948). In very good condition, with scattered light soiling, a brush to “Sox,” a few bends and creases, and mounting remnants to reverse.
