<B>Ebenezer Hazard Three Autograph Letters Signed</B></I> "<I>Eben Hazard</B></I>" (with added paraphs) to his sister, Elizabeth Breese. The first letter: one page to his sister plus one page reply on same lettersheet, 7.75" x 9.75", Philadelphia, October 11, 1806. In part, "<I>...I Have a little of the Gout (or something like it) in my stomach, so that I cannot add more than that the rest are well...</B></I>" The second letter: 2.5 pages, 8" x 9.5", Philadelphia, June 8, 1807. Third letter: one page, 8" x 9.5", Philadelphia, March 26, 1813. Hazard was the first postmaster of New York City and later, the Postmaster General under the Continental government. Under his guidance, the mail was first carried in stagecoaches, an improvement over the horse and rider system. Letters are generally in good to very good condition. From the Henry E.
