This is an important early Eastern Sioux Native American Indian forged iron trade pipe tomahawk from the late 18th century to early 19th century (circa 1780-1840). The pipe tomahawk head has a very unique and desirable cut out design and deep pipe bowl. This has a file branded haft or pipe stem that is believed to be a replacement from the late 19th century. Wonderful museum quality piece in overall good condition. Tomahawk head is 8.25"L x 2.75"W x 1.5" thick at haft connection (has a 3/4" approx. pipe bowl that is 1 1/8" deep). Overall is 17.25"L.
