This is a pipe stem and bowl both carved from catlinite pipestone with trade brass rings and rare carved wood mouth piece. This is from the Eastern Sioux Native American Indians collected at the deaccession sale from the Eastern Sioux Museum in Ontario, Canada. The piece is from the second to fourth quarter of the 19th century. The pipe has glass trade seed beadwork and ocher dyed feathers that were believed to be added later circa 1930-1950's and are not original to the piece. Very rare original 19th century full catlinite stem and bowl. This comes on a custom solid wood stand. Stand is 3.5"x25.5"x4". Pipe is 25.75" overall. Bowl is 6 5/8"x3 5/8" with a 1/2" opening.
