The lot features an oak hardwood gunstock war club with spontoon blade from the Eastern Plains dating to circa 1900-1950's. The piece exhibits a carved hardwood oak club in a classic gunstock pattern with file branded / burnished. The club has a beveled edge with carved gripping area having a pierced hole at the pointed end which would have held a drop. The club is adorned with brass covered metal tacks. The front has a spontoon blade which shows a median edge running down the center of both sides with a square shank secured to the shaft with pewter. The club and blade have nice deep coloring. Measures overall 27.5-inches long by 8 1/8-inches wide by approx. 1.25-inches deep. The blade protrudes 3 7/8-inches long and is 1 7/8-inches wide.
