Featured in this lot is this Eastern Anatolian tribal Caucus Kilim circa 1930s. The region of Eastern Anatolia borders the Caucasian republics that recently gained independence from the now-defunct Soviet Union; It also abuts Iran, formerly known as Persia. The region has experienced Turkish, Kurdish, Azeri, Armenian, Russian, and Iranian influence, to a greater or lesser degree, some of which is evident in the designs and coloring of weavings made here. The rug features a beautiful intricate design with symmetrical geometric design and vibrant coloration to the geometric patterns and central medallions. The rug displays colors of green, orange, red, teal, yellow, and blue. The rug displays tassels on each end. The condition of this Kilim is is good with some slight wear to the rug but otherwise in good overall condition. The measurements of this rug are 81"L x 24 1/2"W.*
