East Tenn. Childs Rocking Chair Mtn. Primitive
Again, the Byrd or Shrader family of Sevier County, Tennessee in the Smoky Mountains area, someone made one of the neatest childs rocking chairs you can imagine. This rocker measures some 20" tall by 13" wide by 17 1/2" deep. I would say there is 75% or more of the original red paint on the surface. 2 board plank seat, curved hand whittled arms, hand carved mushroom shaped top finials, 2 slat backs, crudely turned front center stretcher and sides, some old crude nails in the back and some evidence of old wood bores that are now dead on the bottom of the seat. This is one of the best primitive childs rockers you could ever hope to find. If you like furniture with character, you are going to be gaga happy with this.
