The majority of the 17 large size survivors extant from here are of this denomination and design type. Despite the fact that the grades listed in the census for the ten $5 1902 Plain Backs known cover quite a range, the serial number range of the known examples is quite narrow. When this institution was liquidated in 1934 and its circulation assumed by the First National Bank in East Peoria, a scant $335 survived in large. We sold this same note in our January 2001, FUN Signature Sale for $385.
