Early to mid-19th century expertly constructed etched miniature suit of armor, Austrian crests, approx. 34” in height, 14” in width and 8” in depth at the waist, on wood base that is approx. 11” square and 3-1/2” in height. The suit isdesigned in the classic medieval style with many articulating parts and etched panel scenes of heraldry, griffins, etc. Armor panels are secured by riveted leather straps, true to how actual full-sized suits were constructed and agold-fringed red under coat material is utilized beneath the suit on top of the supportive framework.
