Early to mid-18th century center hammer flintlock pistol signed “Barbar, London” in very good original condition. The pistol measures approximately 11” overall with 5 1/4"” cannon shape barrel of approximately .56 caliber smoothbore. The metal surfaces show a pleasing patina with traces of original finish mixed in. The engraving and signature are fairly sharp. The stock shows a fancy silver plaque with an engraved family crest and motto. An original to the period horn tip ramrod is included. Barbar was a high-quality and early English maker who immigrated from France with other Huguenots. Est.: $900- $1,800.
