Early Zuni Polychrome Bowl,
circa 1880s. Rounded bottom, with flaring sides and short, slightly excurvate rim, with painted black and rust-colored geometric devices on a cream slip. The lip painted in rust, with five pairs of short, parallel lines on rim interior, and with the bottom of the vessel also painted in rust; 4" high x 6.5" diameter. Deaccessioned from the Western Reserve Historical Society of Cleveland, Ohio. Old paper label with "214A" and "1215", "#1 S.P. Baldwin" painted in black, and museum accession number"42.1206" painted in red on base.
