For your consideration is this porcelain enamel, Public Utility Operator license plate from Yellowstone National Park circa early to mid 1900s. The role of the operator at the National Park includes the operation, maintenance, and repair of the park's essential utility systems like water supply, wastewater treatment, electrical grids, and heating systems, ensuring they function properly for both visitors and park staff; essentially, they are responsible for keeping the park's essential services running smoothly by monitoring, troubleshooting, and fixing any issues that arise with the utilities infrastructure. The licesnes plate shows a green color with white lettering reading, "Public Utility Operator Yellowstone Nat. Park 23". It features two wider mounting holes at the top and four circular mounting holes, two on the left and two on the right. It shows good condition overall with slight wear present from its age and use but no major signs of damage is noted. Slight chip in enamel in bottom right hand corner. The license plate measures 5 1/2" L x 12" W and weighs 1 pound and 2 ounces.
