Early Wrought & Cast Iron American Door 19th-20th
This is an excellent original American wought iron and cast iron door from the late 19th Century to early 20th Century. The piece shows a blacksmith forged heavy construction with brass locking double door knob with area for a bolt, capable of making this a gate, vault door cover for mercantile use, bank use, jail use or more. The top of the door shows spear like cap trims in an arched pattern. The centeral area of the door shows a thick iron section with the brass door knob locking mechanism installed. Under this is the wrought iron blacksmith curved ornate accents that give the door a more fancy design. The piece comes with the original cast hinge and hardware as shown. The door shows very good condition for its age with no major damage and a wonderful patina. Measures "H x "W x "D (at the door knob). Only what is shown is included, no additional hardware is included that is not photographed. The piece was displayed next to the Bank Teller Window in a 40 year Spokane, Washington Collection. Most likely was from an early Spokane to Seattle area Bank.
