Very fine. Overall the rifle retains over 90% original blue finish with some patches of smooth brown patina and some speckling of brown (mostly on the frame). The barrel has even minor thinning and the lever retains approximately half of the blue with the balance a smooth dark gray patina. The wood is excellent with the exception of some minor scratches and dings. Most of the varnish remains. An early Model 53 in 25-20 cartridge and 1100 serial number.
