This is a absolutely beautiful B-C Silversmith Mexico Santa Barbara bridle bit with an ealry 1900's to early vintage age. The bridle bit features a wonderfully and professionally crafted steel and sterling silver mounted with intricate carved leather and braided leather construction. The bit is beautifully crafted with tooled silver mounting to the shanks of the bit with conchos shown at the ends of the cheek pieces and a Santa Barbara hooded crickett bit and shows a silver mounted slobber bar with rein chains attached that begin the intricately and silver decorated reins. This is a beautiful example of the peak quality for a buckaroo or charro cowboy and would be used to flaunt ones horsemanship for special occasions such as gathering, branding, and parades. The bit is marked on the inside of the shank as follows: B-C Mexican. The condition of this of this bridle bit, headstall, and braided reins is good with some age wear to the leather and shows a slight break in the throat latch loop and a slight patina adorning the bit although it has been cleaned up but otherwise shows a good overall condition. The measurements of this bridle bit and headstall is 26" x 5 5/8" x 4" and the reins measure 86". The collective weight of this bridle bit and headstall is 3lb 12oz.
