Early Stanley No 6 & Fulton Tool Co Bench Planes
For your consideration are two antique bench jointer planes. The first is a Stanley No. 6 hand plane circa 1900. This hand plane is 18" in length and shows the "Stanley" on the blade clamp and "No. 6" on the front sole. The No. 6, also called a "fore" hand plane is good for jointing edges and flattening and smoothing large surfaces, such as table tops, panels and workbench tops, where you might not want or need the length or weight of a larger plane. It is in good condition overall, with some wear to the japanning appropriate for its age and use. It shows a steel construction with a dark wood handle and measures approximately 17.5" in length. The second is an unmarked Fulton Tool Co marketed by Sears circa 1908. It shows a currogated steel construction with a dark wood handle and knob. It is in good condition for its age with a nice japanning. This bench plane is in good condition and measures approximately 22" in length
