Early Salyut Command Pilot's Instrument Panel Wings (12x12x5 ) Lot of two similar wing panels...
Early Salyut Command Pilot's Instrument Panel "Wings" (12x12x5") Lot of two similar "wing" panels with a distinct vertical "bend" on the left or right. These units were mounted on the left and right sides of the Command Pilot's Control Panel. They consists of a series of 16 labeled push buttons along the outer edge (controlling such systems as life support for the descent module, the airlock, orientation for reentry, life support systems of the utility and instrumentation modules, etc.), a vertical bank of 16 labeled indicator lights in the center and two unlabeled vertical rows of 12 push bottoms on the inside (controlling ventilation, release of shroud lines descent module ventilation, drainage (?), etc.). There are three adjustment knobs in the center (knobs missing on the left unit) as well as four additional control push buttons (transmission, DEMSh, etc). Ten "male" connectors on the bottom connect these panels to the equipment. A great pair of units, both of which have velcro tabs and/or decomposed foam insulation attached that may indicate their having been salvaged from flown Soyuz capsules (yes, similar units were also used in Soyuz capsules) and recycled to this Salyut Space Station training mock-up. A great pair. This would appear to be an even more important piece of equipment than you would think at first glance. The unit has several pieces of old velcro attached to it as well as remnants of degraded insulating foam. These would tend to indicate that his unit was flown and then reused as part of the Salyut Space Station training mock-up. Estimate: $ 2,500 - 3,500
