Early Remington Model 550 Semi-Automatic Rifle, #NVSN, .22 S-L-LR cal., 24" barrel, blue finish, smooth walnut one-piece pistol grip stock, dovetailed silver beaded blade front sight, standard elevator "U"-notched rear sight, with shell deflector and dual extractors. Mfg'd August 1942. Rifle is in near fine overall condition, retaining approx. 95%-96% blue finish, with light wear and loss of finish at the muzzle, a small rub mark on right side of the barrel, and small scratches towards the muzzle. Markings are sharp. Trigger is color case hardened and most of the finish remains. Stock is very good with scattered scratches and small indentations. There are several slightly deeper mars around both sides of the trigger guard. Buttstock was broken at the toe and repaired, likely with glue. Remington buttplate is chipped at the heel and toe, providing a 13.75" LOP. Action is crisp, bore is near excellent with strong rifling. Est.: $150-$250. (C&R)
