The successor to the Model 1886 rifle, the Model 71 only saw 4 produced in it's introductory year of 1935, making 1936 the first year of full production. Hooded ramp blade front sight, with a block in the rear sight dovetail and an adjustable peep sight on the breechblock, with the New Haven address on the right side of the barrel, caliber and model markings on the left, and "WP" proof stamps on both barrel and receiver. Checkered pistol grip stock, with a half length magazine, metal forearm cap, sling studs and a vented Pachmayr recoil pad.

Condition: Very fine, with 90% of the original blue finish, with bright edge wear, scattered scratches and some light handling marks overall. Stock is very good as modified (recoil pad added), with varnish loss and dents. Mechanically excellent.
