This is a properly restored example of an early production Winchester M1 carbine. The serial number of this carbine falls into Winchester's first assigned serial number range (1000000-1349999) and has early production features. These features include flip rear sight, flat blue bolt, push safety on the trigger guard, 1st type barrel band, and high wood stock with two rivet hand guard, with the "I" oiler cut-out on the stock. The carbine also has the more square nose hand guard typical to early production Winchester M1 Carbines. The barrel is marked with the ordnance bomb over "W.R.A." and "2-43" horizontally. The receiver has standard Winchester markings with a "W" marked tang. The right side of the buttstock is double stamped "W.R.A. / G.H.D." next to an ordnance wheel crossed cannon cartouche and no visible marking in the sling cutout. Complete with green canvas sling and "SW" marked blue magazine. With Civilian Marksmanship Program shipping box, sales papers from the CMP, and a U.S. Navy long term storage "white bag" hand numbered to the carbine and dated "15APR1953"..
