Early Production U.S. Remington-Rand Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol

Made in 1943, with a serial number attributed by R.L. Wilson's "Colt's Dates of Manufacturer" to the tail-end of Colt's first number block of 1943; Colt is known to have sold pistol frames to other 1911A1 contractors, Ithaca in particular. Fixed sights, with "REMINGTON RAND INC./SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A." and "P" on the slide, Atwood inspected frame with "No." style serial number marking, checkered stamped trigger, thin hammer, arched mainspring housing and reinforced plastic grips numbered "5564062" on the inside.

Excellent, with 90% plus of the original blue finish, showing the start of a brown patina on the rear section of the slide, scattered spotting and light handling marks. The grips are excellent, with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
