Manufactured in 1851. The top barrel flat has the standard one line New York address with a dash at each end and the left side of the frame is stamped "COLTS / PATENT" (the latter double stamped). The cylinder has the Texas Navy scene, marked "COLTS PATENT" next to the serial number. Matching full serial number on the barrel, frame, small trigger guard, loading lever, cylinder and backstrap, with the partial serial number "931" on the wedge and arbor pin. Fitted with a smooth varnished walnut grip.

Condition: Very good. All metal surfaces have been cleaned many years ago and have subsequently aged back naturally with a silver gray patina overall over scattered minor pitting. The trigger guard and backstrap retain 90% of the original silver plating which has a dark aged patina. The grips have been varnished, and remain fine with a few minor dings. The percussion nipples are replacements. Almost all of the cylinder scene is visible and the markings are clear. Mechanically fine.
