Early Production Factory Engraved Moore's Patent Firearms Number 1 Derringer
Manufactured between 1860 and 1865 with a total production of about 3,000. This particular derringer has the early production top barrel marking ("D. MOORE PATENT, FEB 19, 1861") with the barrel release button on the right side of the frame. There are no other visible markings. There is a silver post front sight and a hammer notch rear sight. The frame and breech end sides of the barrel feature a broad scroll engraving, with a single checkered panel on the back of the grip.

Fair. The barrel has a smooth bright gray patina with even mild pitting, along with a few minor pressure dents on the left side. The brass is good with some minor dings near the hammer and some minor scratches overall. The engraving remains clear and crisp.
