Manufactured in 1916, the second year of production. The top of the distinctive "pencil" barrel is marked with the one line address/1903 patent date, the serial number is marked on the front strap and the left side of the slide is marked "COLT AUTOMATIC / CAL. 22 LONG RIFLE? With the Rampant Colt behind the serrations. Elevation adjustable blade front sight, windage adjustable rear sight, checkered trigger, checkered oval panel on the back strap, two tone Colt marked magazine and fitted with checkered walnut grips with a diamond pattern around the screw. Complete with the original maroon hinged lid box numbered to the gun, manual, "Special Instructions" and "Shooting Suggestions" pamphlets, cleaning brush and sight screwdriver.

Condition: Very fine. The pistol retains 90% original blue finish with overall thinning and areas of smooth brown patina, as well as some edge wear. Overall there are a few minor scratches and dings. The grips are also very good with a few minor chips on the bottom edges and some minor wear to the otherwise crisp checkering. The markings remain sharp. The action is excellent. The box is good with three separated lid corners, some heavy edge wear and some loss of the outer material.
