Very rare early first model service revolver, produced in 1903. Slightly extended front sight blade with gold accented face and standard notch rear sight, with "NEW SERVICE CAL.44" on the left side of the barrel and the 2 line address on the top, and "COLT'S/ NEW SERVICE" around the Rampant Colt on the frame. Niter blue smooth trigger and checkered casehardened hammer. Checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT" imprints and a lanyard swivel on the butt.

Condition: Very good, with 85% of the original blue finish, showing a brown patina on the grip straps and in scattered patches overall, bright edge wear and scattered handling marks. The front sight blade has been shortened and pinned to accommodate the extension. Hammer retains 85% of its case colors which are bright and vivid, and 80% of the original niter blue remains on the trigger. Grips are excellent, with some light pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
