Early Pre-World War I DWM Model 1908 Navy Luger Pistol

This is an example of a DWM Model 1908 German Navy Luger. This series of Luger is easily to identify in that it has the early stock lug, but lacks the grip safety from the 1906 models and it has the second pattern, upper marked safety area "GESICHERT" with no chamber date. The front toggle has the standard "DWM" logo and the left side of the barrel extension has the double "Crown/M" proofmarks with the smaller Imperial "Crown" firing proof, the later being repeated on the left rear section of the barrel and the "Crown/M" proof also stamped on the underside of the barrel. It is numbered in the military manner with the full serial number stamped on the major parts with the last two digits (32) correctly stamped on the various small parts. This magazine that accompanies this pistol is an original WWI era type that has the nickel plated body with the correct wooden base that is marked "6831/a/+".

Manufucture: DWM
Model: 1908 Navy
BBL: 6 inch round
Stock:
Guage: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 1632b

Very good condition overall with traces of the original blue finish remaining with the balance mostly having faded and browned out, showing some very, very minor pin-prick pitting in some areas from years of sea service/duty. The grips are in good plus condition with nice original checkering on both sides, showing years of accumulated dirt and grime from use, mixed with minor wear on the tops of the checkering on the edges of the grips. This solid original, unaltered 1908 Navy Luger has matching numbers, except for the magazine as noted above.
