Early Post-War Mauser Model 1896 Bolo Semi-Automatic Pistol

This is an very fine example of a early post-war commercial 1896 Mauser pistol. This example has the later bolo style frame with the small grips and small ring hammer. These were a continuation of the same pre-war style pistols. The top of the chamber area is marked " WAFFENFABRIK/MAUSER/OBERNDORF A/N" with the commercial "Crown/U" and serial number "89785/a" on the left side. The right rear side of the frame is marked with the standard Mauser factory markings " WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER/OBERNDORF A. NECKAR". It is fitted with the short barrel and the banded front side that has the fixed front sight blade. The adjustable rear sight graduated to 1,000 meters. The top of the bolt is also stamped with the "Crown/U" commercial proof. It is fitted with a set of walnut grips with 22 groove grips with a lanyard loop on the butt ring missing. Both grip panels are numbered "635159" on the back of each grip.

Very fine with 90% plus of the blue finish remaining overall with edge and high spot wear. The refinished replacement grips are very good with nice distinct grooves. Mechanically excellent. A nice representative example of an early Bolo Mauser pistol.
