Early Post-War Colt Model 1911A1 Government Semi-Automatic Pistol
Manufactured in 1948 this pistol features polished blue finish on the flat portions of the pistol with a matte blue on the remainder. The right side is marked "COLT AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE 45" followed by the Rampant Colt marking with the Hartford address on the left. The frame is marked "GOVERNMENT MODEL" over the serial number on the right side. Trigger guard is marked with a number "5" over the "VP" proof on the left with a number "4" on the right side. The backstrap has the serrated arched mainspring. Fitted with checkered walnut grips.

Excellent. The slide retains 95% of the original blue finish with some thinning and minor scratches. The frame retains 95% of the original blue finish with thinning on the grip straps and a few areas of minor spotting. Grips are very good with dings and handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
