<Our item number 140078><B>Mills, William & Sarah Ellis - Extremely Early and Important Polynesian Missionary Letter.</B> William Mills &#40;1794-1872&#41; was one of the group of the first permanently settled white missionaries in Samoa, arrived in &#34;Dunotar Castle&#34; in 1836; next to John Williams he was the most famous L.M.S. missionary of the South Pacific; he authored <I>Polynesian Reminiscences</I>. Autograph letter from William Mills to William Ellis, 12½ x 8 in., 1p, Apia, 1840, 9 April. Regarding order for goods annexed, with red seal. It was apparently carried to Sydney by the Missionary brig Camden.
