For your consideration is this large early antique Kilim Maimana woven rug, hand woven in Afghanistan. It was woven by Uzbek weavers in northwest Afghanistan near the city of Maimana in Faryab Province. Faryab Province is a multiethnic and mostly tribal society with Uzbek forming a majority. This beautiful rug dates to circa 1890-1910 and shows exceptional quality. Kilim rugs were what the Uzbek weavers would have woven for their own homes. It is hand woven of 100% natural wool; colors include brown, cream, blue, green, orange, yellow and rust. The predominant color is brown. This rug is in excellent condition. Measurements: 9’ 9” x 16’.
