Early Oil Derrick Photo Group. Series of eight sepia photographic prints, 5" x 7.5", showing an oil drilling operation at the turn of the last century. There are three close-up images of a primitive derrick and the steam engine which powered it; three panoramic views of a flood plain in which a derrick is visible; and, two panoramic shots of the same flood plain in which no oil rigs are present. It is likely that these shots were taken in South Texas. There might be enough visual evidence here for the serious oil historian to identify the location. A rare and unusual set of historic photographs.

Shipping: Miscellaneous Collectibles, Smal (view shipping information)

Important notice:<
