Early Oak Bank Teller Window & Counter c. 1900
This is an excellent early 1900 Bank Teller Window with Counter. The piece shows a quarter sawn oak raised panel construction with wrought iron and glass window area and marble counter and base trim. The piece is marked by the manufacture, Levey Bros. & Co. U.S. Bank Furniture Co. Indianapolis, Indiana. The front of the piece shows a designated teller window with extended marble counter area and slot for the teller and customer to interact along with the reverse painted glass black and gold "TELLER" title framing the top. Next to the teller window area is more marble counter with two small glass windows and two slots for bank employees and customer interactions. The window front has excellent carved crown molding along with two impressive hand carved column accents. The back of the counter shows four large doors below with forty different pigeon hole compartments. Each of the sides of the cabinet are unfinished as this would have been part of a much larger counter section or against walls. The piece shows overall good condition for its age with no major damage. The counter and window areas come apart along with the marble all being able to be removed for shipment. The very rare piece would transform any collector's room into an authentic early American Bank. Measures overall "H x "W x "D.
