Early Northern Plains Large Spear w/ Beaded Drop
The lot features an early original large spear from a Northern Plains Native American Indian. The spear shows a long large size with early trade red clothe wrapping over a wood construction having a rawhide parfleche wrapping below. The blade features a long double edge blade with dark patina held in place by a modern repair. The front also shows a glass trade seed beaded drop with Buffalo Hair, brass trade bells, and a drop of trade clothe. The entire edge is decorated in dyed Turkey feathers with a Indian tanned hide tie to keep each at the same level. The end of the spear shows a glass trade geometric seed beaded Indian tanned hide drop with Hudson Bay red white heart wound glass larger trade beads accenting the fringe. This is truly a monumental sized excellent crafted early spear showing fine condition. Measures overall "L. Spear head is "L x "W. Review pictures for age.
