Early Nazi Cartoon. Small broadside, 6
Early Nazi Cartoon. Small broadside, 6 x 81/4, Dec. 1924, a year after Hitler's Beer Hall Putsch. The 1924 German elections weakened the moderate parties and presented an opportunity for the Nazis' push for power. This broadside, printed one side in Berlin, is strongly anti-Semitic. Showing a series of buildings labeled "Stock Exchange, Commerce, Banks, Cinema, Theatre," it places Jews in caricature on each. Title of broadside, "Vote Daitsch Demokratisch," a Jewish corruption of "Democratic." Archive stamp on verso. Tiny file holes in left margin, not affecting images; toned, else fine. Rare and early Nazi "advertising."
