Early NASA Photos
A lot of (5) b&w and color photos of some of the first American astronauts from the early days of NASA. The first three photos are of the crew of the Apollo 1 who were killed in a fire during a pre-launch test on 1/27/67. They include a b&w photo of Roger B. Chaffee, and color photos of Virgil 'Gus' Grissom and Edward White, the first American to walk in space. All three were given the Congressional Space Medal of Honor for their sacrifice. The other two color photos are of astronauts Harrison H. Schmitt, the last of the Apollo astronauts to arrive and set foot on the moon, and James B. Irwin, the Lunar Module pilot for Apollo 15. (measures approx. 8"x 10" ea.)
